Hello Averil,
Two Margery/Margorys? (And several Williams.) William Corkill of Balnejora's second wife Margory was alive in 1711 [wills], so can't have been the one who died in 1695.
I transcribed the will of Margery/Marge/Margaret Christian whom I think married William Corkill of Ballagorry Beg in 1679:
www.iomfhs.im/lawsons/LawsonBMD/twill/1695_017.html
In her will "Margorey" referred to animals in Balnagory - i.e. Ballagorry, often confused with Balnajory/Ballajora.
I don't think that Margaret Karran who marr.Daniel Corkill in 1668 could have had a son who married in 1679, eleven years later. Very young marriages occurred very occasionally to secure land holdings, but wouldn't there be contracts?
I think it far more likely that the William Corkill who married Margery Christian was from Ballagorry Beg, so nothing to do with the Ballajora family.
In my posting I was repeating what CR wrote, and I haven't looked at the land records, but apparently Jon Corkill d.1669 was the landholder, and was followed by eldest son James who married Jony Callow.
- And their eldest son and heir was William Corkill d.1711 who married twice, and was predeceased the same year [1711] by his son William (who had no children - see will).
James Corkill & Jony Callow's second son Edward had gone to Ballasloe after his 1701 marriage to Ann Cattin/Cashin (contract?), and third son Ewan started the Ballajora John "Dick" line. Ewan Corkill d.1754 [will], wife Isabel d.1748 [will].
Maughold par reg burials:
Isabel CORKILL wife of Ewan Jan 24 1747/48
Ewan CORKIL B'Joara buried Apr 12 1754.
CR has Daniel Corkill [3rd son of Jon d.1669] marr. Margaret Karran 1668; d.1690; at least 2 children William & Katherine.
She has Daniel 1703-61 as the brother of William Corkill d.1711 [sons of William who also d.1711] and married 1727 Elizabeth Corkill from the other Ballajora family of Corkills [Particle landholders].
Daniel CORKIL buried Jan 30 1761.
Are there problems?
