Hi Tony,
As you will have seen, Frances has looked through the film I suggested and found that there was no Maughold William Corkill who left a will on that film.
Like you, I keep coming back to the marriage of William Corkill & Elinor Christian 16 Dec 1802, and their children. But remember that William was unlikely to be the son of John C & Jane Skillicorn - their William was almost certainly married to Cath Kelly. His brother Christopher was the ancestor of Joe Corkill who you saw on this board.
William Corkill & Elinor Christian's children bapt in Maughold were:
Elinor 8 Apr 1804
Robert 14 Sep 1806
William 8 Nov.1808
Margaret 13 Oct 1811
Dorothy 31 Jul 1814
Elizabeth 4 Apr 1819.
Dorothy was also the name of one of Robert's children, as were William, Robert, and Elizabeth ("Dorothy" being relatively unusual).
As they married in 1802 we can assume that William was probably baptised between about 1760-1780, with closer to 1780 being more likely, and Elinor probably baptised between about 1770-1782.
There was a bapt for Ellinor daur of William Christian & Dorothy Wattleworth in Maughold on 17 Mar 1773.
Also:
Ellinor William Christian/Ellinor Christian 28 Sep 1774. Private baptism.
Ellinor John Christian/Joney Kerruish 21 Jun 1783. Private baptism
William William Corkil/Margaret Calow 2 May 1760. Twin of Margaret
William William Corkil/Margaret Calow 16 Jun 1765
William Thomas Corkil/Ellinor Kermod 2 Mar 1774
William William Corkill/Ellinor Hutchen 31 Jul 1774
William James Corkill/Bahee Lawson 29 Aug 1779
William John Corkil/Ann Kissage 29 Jun 1781
Perhaps you could look for Maughold wills for these parents through those three will sites I gave you the refs for, and also at Frances's Maughold will summaries [www.isle-of-man.com/manxnotebook/famhist/willsums/index.htm] and see whether anything looks promising?
Sometimes "my son-in-law William Corkill" or "my daughter-in-law ......... with her maiden name, is named, so look for the wives' surnames as well.
