Hi Tony,
Just to pull things together for you, in their book "A History of Kirk Maughold", 1979, J.W. [Bill] & C.K. [Constance] Radcliffe wrote that Ballasloe came to the Corkills through Ann Cashin's marriage to Edward Corkill of Ballajora.
Edward Corkill & Ann Cattin married in Maughold 26 Oct 1701.
Her name Cattin has been said to mean Cashin or Cottier in various records.
I think Cashin - there is a marriage contract which could be for them under Corkill Ew / Cashin Ann. No.18 (my index photocopy v black).
The Radcliffes wrote that Corkills had been recorded in Ballajora (farmland) since 1511 [Thomas McCorkell landholder], and that two separate Corkill families were living in different parts of the land throughout the 1600s "prosperously engaged in sheep-farming", and probably connected by a common ancestor, but not found.
I have a cousin in Maughold whose grandparents were both Corkills from unrelated families, and the Ballajora ones were the ones not related to me, but I do have limited information about them given to her by her friend Constance Radcliffe.
Edward's family starts with John Corkill ballajory buried Maughold Mar 13 1669.
Maughold parish reg burials:
Joh: CORKILL ballajory Mar 13 1669
[Joh was an abbreviation for John.]
CORKILL Vxor Jon Apr 2 1697
[wife of John's son John?]
John had three sons: James bur.23 Nov.1689; Jon; and Daniel d.1690.
Maughold parish register has:
Jony CALLOW Vxor Ja: CORKILL buried Jan 3 1688.
[Jony Callow wife of James Corkill.]
James Corkill & Jony Callow had six children, with numerous descendants. Edward was their 2nd son, who married 1701 to Ann Cattin [Cashin].
He was “of age” in his mother’s 1689 will [over 14], and because his 3 youngest siblings were underage (born between 1674 & 1688) he was likely to be born in the late 1660s/early 1670s.

There is a Maughold bapt for Edward s/o James Corkill on 13 Feb 1658/59 but it looks too early? However, CR wrote eldest son William b.1656, so perhaps correct.
All baps & burials Maughold parish reg.
James & Jony's children were:
1. William 1656-1711, married twice. William s/o James Corkill bapt 7 Sep 1656 [The heir to inherited land was often not mentioned in wills because he inherited automatically by law. James’s youngest son John had to buy the Ballasloe land with the permission of his eldest brother.]
2. Edward s/o James Corkill bapt 13 Feb 1658/59
3. Jony d/o James Corkill bapt. 20 Mar 1666/67
4. Isabel marr. Richard Kermode Ballajora; Isabel CORKILL wife to Rich KERMOD buried Mar 14 1692
5. Katheren
6. Ewan d.1754 marr.Isabel d.1748.
Followed by Edward & Ann’s only son James Corkill 1707 – 1779 the first Corkill at Ballasloe after father Edward.
