Hello Averil.
I'm answering a message which will (hopefully) pull the thread back further to the left.
I'm missing a step somewhere.
- Was looking at this at midnight last night, so rather befuddled with the Corkills.
You wrote: "The only solution has to be the Will for - CORKILL, Bahee 1815 Maughold A 85 and hope that she names the Elinor ? who is the Son, William's wife - either, Ellinor Hutchen or Elinor Christian".
If "our" William was the son of John C./ Ann Kissage of Ballasloe, and the same Wm with wife Elinor who appeared in Robert's will docs which seems likely, he can't be married to Ellinor Hutchen who was the previous generation. It was her son William who I had on the list of possible William Corkills to have married Elinor Christian (along with several other William Corkills).
And what was significant about Bahee Lawson, who was just one of the many William Corkill mothers? I mentioned her separately only because there seemed to be some confusion between the dates of bapt of two Williams, with one bapt 29 Aug 1779 and the other bapt 9 Aug. 1779.
But I am probably missing something!
Anyway, I decided to take a different approach. Instead of looking at these numerous William Corkills and trying to exclude them one at a time, I looked at William Corkill & wife Elinor in Robert of Ballasloe's will docs. I asked myself whether there was any other William & Elinor this could possibly have been, other than Robert's brother? I therefore tried to find an earlier relationship between the family and an older William Corkill and Ellinor Hutchen, without success. Luckily. And found no other William Corkill who married an Elinor in Maughold within the period.
