Don't forget that as well as William the son of John Corkill on the list of bapts for their children: William s/o John Corkil/ Ann Kissage 29 Jun 1781, there were at least 5 other possible Williams to have married Elinor Christian (listed last message) - William the son of Bahee Lawson was just one of them. He may be in Brian's records.
The reason I thought there might be two Johns brothers of Robert & William (like the Kermeens who used the same name twice for living children in some families) was because of the 1850 burial of John Corkill Ballasloe aged 85 which would make him b.c.1765, and the first son of John Corkil/ Anne Kissag was bapt 1766. There is no age or place on the 1772 burial which one would expect for the heir, but you are probably right - it would explain why there seemed to be only one John referred to in Robert's will.
The Wiliam Corkill & Elinor his wife in Robert's will certainly look like William Corkill & Elinor Christian, which would be a stroke of good luck! But then there are also William Corkill & Ellinor Hutchen who would be much older - but I'm pretty sure James Corkill had only the two sons James and Edward Corkil so I don't see where another William of that generation could fit in to their family.
The chances seem good that William brother of Robert of Ballasloe married Elinor Christian.
