Hi Teecee
Have been rereading some of my material, and something has come up. I have Dorothy on the 1861 census Isle of Man. The 1871 census has Dorothy and William Warren with a 8 year old daughter Ann [she died at 10 years] She was born at Hensingham Cumberland. I thought the Corkhill stayed on the Isle of Man, but it works out if they came to England, then Dora could have met William. I have 1862 Dec. Whitehaven as the possible marriage.. The question that's bothering me why did she return to the Isle of Man on his death, if her family was living in England. She had 2 young children. I have Dora In the 1891 census, Isle of Man Maughold Ramsey 3 Albert, charwomen 2 children John 15 years Whitehaven & Elie 10 Whitehaven . On Elie's birth certificate it showa Dorothy last name as Corkhill and on the 1881 census it shows her birthplace as Isle of Man. This is all a little clumsy but I do have birth and death certificates. I do have Dora in 1901 living with her son John his wife, son & daughter, both sons called their daughters Dorothy. I'll leave it at that. I have been doing this genealogy for 10 years and your the first I have met who might have be family, so this has been fun. I have more but not a lot on the Corkhills. larry
