Hi Sue,
Many thanks once again for your replies. Boy, what a tangle I've got myself into now!! My fault. Looks like I've taken a wrong turn somewhere.
But first things first.--When I referred to your work in 2007, it is under the heading;- CORKILL FAMILY FROM RAMSEY/MAUGHOLD. It was from a request by Joe Corkill and started by Donna J Douglass on the 25/01/07. You gave an answer the next day and other days. If you wouldn't mind having a quick look at it, you will see that that thread is also quite long and it would appear as though this is somewhere along the way where I have taken a wrong turn.
I have had a look at the 'familysearch.org' site and can find the Robert Corkills you mention. The one that I thought may not be ours is the one born in1803. It shows that in the 1861 census he was living in Kensington and I have no knowledge of a Kensington Corkill.
The Robert b 1806 was son of William/ Elinor Christian. Frustratingly, he fits the bill best of all because of his age, 47, in 1853 when he died,
The other 1806 birth seems to have been 'Robin', son of William/Jane Kneale.
There is an 1808 Robert by John Corkill/Joney Joughen. He seems like the next best bet. I would not think that Robert b Oct 1808, son of David Corkill/Mary Gallon would be one of ours because there have been no Davids in the family that I know of and the names are usually repetitive.
Last but not least! When you speak of the Par Regs (?). I would need to go back to Sunderland to be able to view them. From my house to the Mormon Church in Sunderland is about 20 miles which is not a long way but---it's a complete nightmare to get through Sunderland. Is it absolutely imperative to have these films and do you know of any other way I could get the information, please?
I would be really grateful for your help.
Thanks again,
Tony
