You might be interested to know that Ishmael Looney and family has a MI in the Maughold Church Cemetery too.
Ishmael Looney is shown in the Lonan Parish Christening Record as "Ismael" Illegt son of Thomas Looney and Elinor Costean, christened 2 Jun 1791. He shows up in the 1841 Census of Ramsey, Maughold as Ismael Looney age 50. Then he shows up in the 1851 and 1861 census as Ishmael Looney.
Ishmael Looney married Esther Curphey on 26 May 1821 in Maughold Parish. It appears that Esther was the daughter of Edward Curphey and Ann Norman.
Checking the records for Lonan Parish for a Thomas Looney I found a Thomas Looney Christened 7 Apr 1773 who makes a good candidate to be the father of Ishmael Looney. I found an Elinor Costean christened in Arbory Parish in Aug 1773 which would make her and Thomas the same ages.
Thomas Looney b. 1773 Lonan Parish appears to be the son of Thomas Looney b. 1740 Lonan Parish, grandson of Daniel Looney and Jane Kissack who were married ca. 19 Oct 1734. Daniel Looney and his son Thomas both are associated with the land known as "Ballamoar".
The John (?Looney?) mentioned as being the Illegt. son of Elinor Costean and "maybe" Thomas Looney, appears to be in error since a Lonan Parish Christening list on MNB seems to show this John christened 24 Sep 1786 in Lonan Parish to be the son of James Brew and Isabel Costean.
