I'm having some difficulty in making a distinction as to which John Looney was the son of John Looney and Margaret Kelvie.
I have figured out that John Looney was born about 1698 and died about 1769. I also figured out that his wife, Margaret Kelvie was born about 1725 and she died sometime after she made a will dated 1798.
I found a burial record in Maughold Parish for a John Looney who I believe to be there son, John Looney "Yack", buried 2 Dec 1835, aged 87 (b. 1748). I assume this the the John Looney associated with Crow Creen. There is also a burial record for a "Wid Looney (Yack)" buried 22 Feb 1838, age 82 (b. 1756).
If this John "Yack" Looney is the son of John and Margaret (Kelvie) Looney, then who was his wife?
There seems to be two trains of thought as to who married John Looney, son of John and Margaret (Kelvie) Looney. One says his wife was Isabel Camaish, the other says the wife was Margaret Hutchen.
If anyone knows, please provide the birth and death dates along with pointers as to where to find documents to support these facts.
