Thanks for your interest Frances, My Mothers name by the way and my middle name with the i. The 1881 census has my gr Grandfather John Gick b 1850 in Devon where he married. It simply states he was born in Ireland. Could someone tell me if I'd get much more info if I paid to join the census site. Michael
