hosting a site costs money (as do the various admin chores) - that has to be paid for, that is what I meant. The direct advertising revenue will not be great for a small site with limited readership but a good google rating means that more people will find this site. Many excellent sites rely on people's hobby money - eg the late Brian Lawson I understand paid for his hosting - the IoMfhsoc site is paid for out of subscriptions - I note that Robt Maxwell has now queried the provision of 'free' sites by newspapers as not making commercial sense so micro-payments might well be a thing of the near future which would help sites such as this.
To return to the problem - if it happens again then try the preview facility - keep a copy of your intended post but then delete half and see if it complains in the preview - that will give you which section is troublesome.
