This may sound dumb but I need help with the definition of a couple of words. I tried the dictionary but it wasn't very helpful. What do the terms Sheating and Kirk mean? I thought they both meant something similar to "county" or "district" but I have seen both words used together to denote a place. Are they place names or locational terms? I received an e-mail with the location: Sheating Kirk Lonan, Isle of Man. Is this an incorrect use of the words?
Thanks in advance for the education.
