I have just had a quick look at a copy of George Fox's autobiography, one of the founders of the Quakers, to see if there is a mention of Irish Quakers. He does refer to "the sufferings of Friends" as they were known then "both in this nation and in Ireland" in Chapter 12 (1658-1659) so there were Irish Quakers at the time mentioned in this thread. They probably would have joined from Protestant communities already in Ireland. They would have been more inclined to leave Ireland because they were discriminated against because they were not part of the established church.
