Yes, you are right Viv. Even for the Taggarts that would be very young to be married! (Although there are examples of children that age having marriage contracts.) Perhaps this is a case of having children with the same forename, instead of my assuming that the earlier one had died. Although if so, one would expect both Ellins to have been in the will among the five (six) children?

I agree we should attach William COWLEY to her instead of younger Ellin. But in the hope of confirming this are you able to look at the Malew register to see whether younger Ellin had died before the 1721 will?

And if you do look at it, could you please also check for a place name for the other bapts and burials for the children of William Taggart who died 1721? It would be great if you come across Henry's bapt (c.1700, or c.1704/5? - gap in bapts there) under just son of, unnamed! Or written really badly.

These entries might also show whether it is the same William in both marriages, which you asked about.
