Hi Sue...thanks for the email...
I don't see a direct link to my tree yet. Here is a quick back tree for my batch of Taggarts. When I had Donna look at this several years back, she believed it was probably good, at least until we got to the last John or Donald, at which the track was becoming more supposition. My great grandfather here is John Frank Taggart, he came to the US in 1878 or 79.
John Frank Taggart. (b.28Nov1858 Red Gap) son of Wm T. and Eliza Hampton T. (Wm. farmed the acreage of father Paul's, 1861-81 census's, lived "at the Windmill" 1881-later the "Witches Mill.")
Wm Taggart.(b.3Mar1819, K.Malew) son of Paul and Elinor Quayle T. (Paul farmed about 100 acres between Arbory Rd down to old Balladoole, just NW of old Knockrushen 1841-51 Census)
Paul Taggart.(b.1Feb1789) son of Wm. T. and Mary Halsall T. (Wm is listed as farming Moaney Moar)
Wm. Taggart.(b.12Nov1752). son of John T. and Anne Quayle T.
John Taggart.(b.1Nov1726). son of John T. and Eliza Bridson T. (listed as living "The Packy." What or where is "The Packy?"
John Taggart.(b.27Dec1696) son of John T. and Ellin Bridson T.
John Taggart.(b.Mar1658) son of John T. and Jaine Bridson T.
John Taggart.(17July1632) son of Donald T. and ??? this is only a guess on Donald, born about 1606 in K.Braddan
Donald Taggart.(b.about 1606 K.Braddan) son of Wm. T. and Margrett Quyne T.
Wm. Taggart.(b.about 1579 K.Braddan)
In general, it seems to me the Taggart's started up at the north end of Malew way back, and all the Bridson's married in our line, would indicate close to the west side of K.Santan where Bridson was a major player. For some reason Paul ended up down at old Balladoole, not the House/Manor, by the time of the 1841 Census but was undoubtably there earlier. I need to read thru this entire set of remarks on Taggart's and Kelly's as I have not been on the Forum for over a year. Hopefully, I'll learn more or find a connector or two. We will be back over on the Island the 15th of April, for a full week. I hope to go up and spend some time walking the area around St. Mark's and Moaney Moar, with my GPS and camera. All for now, and thanks!
soft landings,
