Hello Averil,
I don't pretend to be able to follow most of the Looney details you and Philip are posting, but I think Philip was referring to what you wrote here regarding Ramsey burials:
"JOHN 1816 – 14th Dec 1889 Son of, John Looney & Jane Cubbon
John Looney married, Mary Callow 20th June 1843
Children,
1844 William Looney 9th May (baptised,12th May) burial, 20th Jan 1871 RAMSEY
1846 John Callow Looney 25th Oct RAMSEY
1849 James William Looney 31st Jan RAMSEY."
Although the family are recorded as from Ramsey, their burials were in Maughold (as shown in the Maughold MIs). So "burial, 20th Jan 1871 RAMSEY" is confusing in that you probably meant "from Ramsey" rather than burial Ramsey. Also 1844 William Looney was indeed buried in Maughold in 1847, not 1871 as you wrote above. You put 1847 elsewhere.
Maughold par. reg. burials have:
William LOONEY, infant, [from] Ramsey, buried Jan 23 1847.
James William LOONEY, 22, [from] Maughold St, Ramsey, buried Aug 3 1871.
What an amazing job you are both doing sorting out this extremely prolific family!
Sue
