I John Looney of KK Maughold being of
Sound Mind Memory and Understanding
do hereby make and Publish this my
Last Will and Testament revoking all
other Will or Wills Wheresoever or ------
Howsoever made ------
First I Commit my Soul to God &
my Body after my decease to be
decently interred in the Parish
Churchyard ------- I leave
& bequeath Sixpence to each of my
Children Item I leave and bequeath
to my Two Grand children ( now
Living with me ) William and Isabella
Stowell the Whole of my property
that I have or may have at the
time of my decease equally Share
and Share alike between them
and do appoint and ordain
My Son Robert to be my Sole
Executor in Trust of this my last
Will & Testament in Witness

The following is a Codisal of the foregoing
Instrument
My Will furthere is that in the event
of Either of my said Grandchildren dying
before the other then his or her Share
of the Property aforesaid is to Revert to
and be the Property of the Survivor and
in case the both Children die before they
attain the age of Twenty One Years then
Deed in Such Case the Said property
or the proceeds thereof is to be Vested
in the hands of my Said Executor in
Trust the interest of which is to be by
him paid to and for the use of my
Daughter Margrett ( Mother of the said
Children ) and in case it should at any
time appear necessary that my Said
Daughter aquire part of the Said
principal my Said Executor to hereby
authorised and directed to pay to her
or for her use part or Whole of the
Same from time to time at his
descretion and Immediately upon My
decease my Said Executor is authorised
to convert the said property into Cash
So as to form a principal and that
no part Whatsoever of either the Said
principal or interest shall be
Attachable or [ maid ] liable for the
debts of my Said Daughter’s
Husband or any other person
but herself as Witness

Not Withstanding this Will is proved but by one
witness yet as no objection is offered Robert Looney
the Executor in the foregoing Will named is
sworn in Court in form of Law well and truly
to execute the last Will and Testament of
John Looney deceased in Trust to pay all his
just Debts and Legacies so far as the goods and
effects of the deceadent will extend and the Law
bind him and to do all other acts and things
pertaining to the office of Executor in Trust
according to Law ---- And to return a true and
perfect inventory of the effects of the deceadent
when hereto Lawfully required --- And to these
ends he has given Pledges namely Ewan
Looney one of the witnesses of the Will and William
Kneale of the Parish of Maughold --------

Archdeacon of Sodor and Mann, and his Successors, in the Sum of Fifty Pounds ------------------------
British ; to the Payment whereof well and truly to be made, we bind Ourselves, our Heirs,
Executors, Administrators, and Assigns, jointly and severally, by these presents,
to the said Archdeacon and his successors.

WHEREAS the Ecclesiastical Court of this Island hath this Daygranted probate of the Last Will

Now the Condition of the above Obligation is such, that if the said Robert Looney
shall well and truly administer the Estate and Effects of the said John Looney -------
deceased ; and shall in all Things relating thereto conform to the Laws of this Isle,
the Orders of the Eccle-siastical Courts thereof , and the Oath he hath this day taken,
then the foregoing Obligation to be void, otherway to be and remain in full force and virtue in Law
