Hi Col
Sorry to re-visit this and no doubt you have forgotten all about this, so my apologies. But I am going through all the thread still and collating all the information and getting a little confused with James William and George Wilfred and their relationship with Edith Mona!
I saw your comment about the census report 1911, with Jas WM Holroyd married (36) to Edith Mona Holroyd (31) for 7 years. With 1 daughter Winifrid Mona Holroyd (6) - all living at 750 Ormskirk Rd, Wigan, Lancs
George Wildred Holroyd (26) was single and was in 39 Corp Royal Engineers, Kent
I can see the marriage of James William to Winifred Mona Briggs: 3 June 1903, Onchan, IoM
I also recall you mentioning a previous post James William Holroyd of 21 Aughton Road probate to Edith Mona Holroyd widow. He died on 12 June 1946
I have a probate entry for George Wilfred Holroyd: Died 16 Jun 1959, Nobles Hospital, Isle of Man Probate London - 9 October 1959 To Edith Mona Holroyd widow
Am I correct in understanding that George Wilfred wasn't married and probate was then left to his brothers wife as he did not have a next of kin?
Or did they get married? As I recall Frances mentioning that they are buried together:
Grave in 1929 section of Rushen yard 382 In Loving / Memory of / WILFRED / HOLROYD / died June 16 1959 / aged 78 years / At Rest / In Loving / Memory of / EDITH / MONA / HOLROYD / died May 27 1966 / aged 87 years / At Rest
But there is no mention of James William Holroyd....
Sorry to bother you all again!!! But I'm confused (doesn't take much!)
