First a huge “thank you” for all your various help and tips. It was most kind of Mary to look at the films for me. I very much appreciate that. However, as to the “Ballachrink” reference that would make sense as the census information gives that as well. The part that was confusing from the census information was Margaret’s older brother, William. His first wife was also a Margaret. She passed away and then William marries again. The big clue to me is in fact the reference to “Margaret J” rather than Margaret on her own. I have trawled through all the baptisms for any “M” or combination of Bridson and/or Radcliffe to try and find my MJB but she is proving to be elusive. The census is the only way I can put her in this family and she is most definitely there. Anyway, as to the iMuseum I will investigate that as soon as it becomes available. I will follow up as well on obtaining the Marriage Certificate as it may perhaps be more clear. Knowing what I think I do I hope that that the outline of the names should be close enough to put Margaret J. well and truly into this family. As you say I need the proof of birth/christening and that is what I’m endeavouring to find. I cannot realistically go back another generation without that.

I am curious to know if the churches still retain the old Parish Registers. Do they also keep a copy or was this all transferred over years ago? Would the IOMFHS have the information on christenings for Malew in the 1820s?
