Yes, you can order a copy from the Registry: www.gov.im/registries/general/civilregistry/ See "Contacts" at the top.
They used to be fairly quick in sending a copy of a parish register entry, but it costs more than hiring the films. Also you don't have the opportunity of looking up other family entries on the same film.

The Manx Museum library has the same films as FHCs, but under different ref. numbers, so FHC numbers can't be used. - The correct film isn't difficult to find in the MM.

I don't think they have started charging to look at their films, but photocopying is expensive. Frances will be able to tell you about digital copying rules.

I would still order the films yourself as well, even if you buy the marriage copy while waiting. Wills in particular are often time-consuming to locate on a film, especially Epis ones, and if someone in the IoM is doing you a favour they may limit the number they are willing to check.
