Thanks so much for all the additional information, that is very helpful. As I already know that Margaret Jane B. is my direct ancestor, is it possible that I could just order a copy of her marriage certificate direct from the IOM Government Registry? When I asked about ordering films back in May (here in Kitchener, Ontario) I was told that they would be six to eight weeks and only if they had the particular film available. Does anyone know what the IOM's turn-around time for receiving a copy of a certificate would be? I am guessing it would be less than the FHC.

As another option. I have someone who could go to the Manx Museum for me. Would it be likely that they have these films there for someone to peruse? Would the FHC film numbers that you indicated be the same ones that someone would ask to look at when in the museum or is other information required? Would anyone also happen to know what the cost of looking at those films in the museum itself be? Just looking at possible options here.
