Re: Ann, wife of John Kelly b1823 C't

You sound like professional sleuths - if it wasn't my own family I would be really interested to follow the threads & see the outcome ! But it is my John Kelly. I'm learning a lot how to interpret the census & match up relationships in neighbouring houses etc.

The MI in Malew for Ann Kelly gives her age as 34 & she was buried in 1854. I never did find her stone with the names of several of her children. The 1st time my husband & I searched almost every grave in Malew Old yard (with the Manx winds blowing & showers) but couldn't find it. Back at the museum we checked the grave plot determined to find it the second time. Still no joy & yet again being cold & wet we had to give up.
There is a possibility that it could be James Kelly & Isabella Quirk as John's parents. John & Ann's first two children who both died after a few weeks were chr Isabella & James. They later on had another son called James. However, they were popular names then. K
