Thanks Jo, The family I have in my own list from Lawson's census was your '2nd family' in 1861 John painter & Jane also 36 (I have her as 34) living at 65 Malew St. Now I have learnt from you that they then moved to Mill St & then Queen St. ! They certainly moved house in those days even though there were 10 years in between censuses.
In the 1851 census John was md to Ann but she died in 1854 & then he md a Jane Ritson. Of all my ancestors this John & his 2 wives are the hardest to research - Ann Mylrea (1st wife) & Jane Ritson (2nd wife from marriage in 1854)

That means that Christian was another John Kelly's mother. Will I ever find the parents of John Kelly b C 1824?

I have requested MIs for John & Jane Kelly in Malew on the message board but as yet haven't got any luck there.
