Re: Thanks

Hi Sylvia, thanks for that info - I've made a note for future elimination. The problem I have is that apart from the marriage of John Kelly to Ann Mylrea in Malew in 1844 which I've verified on the IOM it's hard to find anything else about these 2. This Ann M is not the one born in 1820 in Ballaugh who is easier to research.
In 1851 John has 28 as his age, agr labourer, Ann is 31, son John is 2 & a mystery 'dau' Sophia is 9. Their first baby Isabella(bap 1 month after their marriage!) sadly died.
In 1881 John was a painter in Castletown & md to his second wife Jane (nee Ritson).
As C'town, where John was born, isn't solving his parents for me I've been looking at Rushen.
In 1841 a John Kelly was 17 in Lawson's census list 1465/11 37 3 . Again from this list there are 2 families - John & William, Jane & Sarah as the adults. I don't have the 1841 original census so don't know which husband & wife go together or what their occupations were. I must be getting closer to finding the names of John's parents But as yet I can't see the tunnel's end light. Thanks again.
