Manx Genealogy

Thanks

Just returned from 2 wks on IOM. Wish I'd started genealogy earlier in life & not just this year. I want to thank everyone on the message board who helped me these past months with any info as it made my research whilst on the island easier.
The films etc at the Manx Museum were much easier than I had thought & lots of help from the staff there but wearing on one's back & neck viewing through the films. Both times we entered the gates of both Arbory & Malew graveyards the heavens opened - our macs on but our feet were soaked in the long grass! Foxdale graveyard was easier & smaller. Was surprised to find no headstones for my Kellys. Did manage to look through the big book of burial plots so took photos of the area where the graves were. Couldn't believe grandad who died aged 44 of what was then lead poisoning (he was a painter & dec) & he was much loved, ended up with no stone - thought the family could have helped grandmother out if money was scarce.
Got no further at all with John Kelly md to Ann Mylrea in Malew in 1844. Tried in Peel fhs library, several times at the museum & last day at the registries on Bucks Rd. Mainly tried to find the parents of both but marriage document did not give any parent only the witnesses.
In 1831 John would have been ca 8 years old probably in C'town - does anyone know how I could look up that as 1841 I think he was living on his own & by 1851 he was md to Ann. I needed another 2 wks to get further !
