Did I write that about the 1851 census - that his age was given as 38? If so, it was a typo. See my answer to Jean where I wrote that he was 28 in 1851, and in 1861 there is a thick diagonal stroke through the second number of his age, so that it could be either 36 or 38 - I thought 38. He was consistent with his age given.
Someone on the BB who goes to the MM might look up the marriage for you, because the people who look after the FHS library probably have their hands full with that. You could always buy a copy from the registry if no-one offers.
