I wonder if Minnie was just a neighbour who helped out, rather than being of any significance. Although I still can't explain why Eleanor would have been living in Hoylake.

I am sure Marjorie never thought as the Carringtons as her grandparents, just her adoptive parents. I need to dig out the marriage record of Marjorie to my Grandfather to confirm that she never changed her name.

The Cheshire Records Office have found the Christening record for a Margery Crowe in Hoylake 1905 so I am going to order this today, although I wonder if there will be any details other than what is shown on the beta family search site.
