Hi Maureen,
Thanks very much for the information.
I'm from Cheshire but have never heard of Hoose, however a quick look on Google and I found this:
Hoose was a township in West Kirby Parish, Wirral Hundred (SJ 2189), which became a civil parish in 1866.
In 1894 the whole of Hoose was added to Hoylake cum West Kirby civil parish.
The population was 60 in 1801, 589 in 1851, and 2701 in 1901.
CHURCHES AND CHAPELS
West Kirby, St. Bridget (C of E). The ancient parish church for Hoose.
Hoylake, Holy Trinity. The parish church since 1860.
Hoose, Methodist Chapel (Wesleyan). Built in 1886.
So Hoylake, where Marjorie Crowe was born was part of Hoose, so it is the correct area. Marjorie was born on 16th Jan 1905, so the record you found was on 16th Feb 1905 exactly one month after the birth.
The only thing that doesn't match is the spelling of her name ie Marjery vs. Marjorie which I would have thought would have to have been correct.
Please can anyone tell me how I go about viewing the actual records? Is this something I could ask the Cheshire Records office to do for me?
