The copy I ordered was from the GRO website
so I guess from what you say this is a copy. The certificate is with my Mum at the moment so I don't have it to hand, but I don't remember any other name other than Eleanor on the birth certificate I ordered, but it would be great to know who was the informant (maybe this information is not shown on the ones you can order from GRO?).

I think my Auntie has the original birth certificate, so I've just sent her an email to ask if she can find it. Its very strange why Thomas Shields appeared crossed out on the form, as I say they just told me it was probably a mistake.

I live in Singapore at the moment so am not able to check the newspapers, although when I do return that is an avenue I want to pursue as I think that would help tremendously in finding her.
