Thank you Len. This seems to tie to Helena Emily Crowe, as being born in 1882 and dying in 1960 would make her 78. I guess John is her husband and she became a Corlett.

It seems on all other records of her life events she calls herself Helena Emily, so I'm wondering if as Sue suggested its just an unfortunate error that whoever was taking the 1891 census heard wrong and put her down as Eleanor rather than Helena. So I'm wondering if I'm barking up the wrong tree with this as she is definitely Eleanor on my grandma's birth certificate.

I've just come across a 'Lily Crowe' born 1888 on IOM. But again not really sure that Lily is short for Eleanor, probably more Lilian or Elizabeth even. That said in 1911 she was working in Liverpool as a domestic servant, so dates and areas do fit...
