Its not a typo, but 16 is just a guess on Minnie's behalf. I don't think its can be taken as accurate at all, all I assert from that is that Eleanor would have been fairly young. The Eleanor on the IOM census born 1882 or 81 would have only been 23/24 in 1905 so still a young lady.
I really don't know where the money came from. My guess is whoever she was working for as a domestic servant got her pregnant then provided the money for the baby. It could though be possible it was Eleanor's family, but if she was working as a domestic servant then its probable her family didn't have that kind of money.
I'd never thought she got pregnant in IOM, always presumed it was in England, but that is a possibility.
You can see why this has been a mystery in our family for years!
