Yes, an interesting puzzle and it looks like being solved, or at least enlightened. I found many years ago on IGI the marriage on 30 May 1813 Malew, IOM of a Robert GELL and Margt SCARFF. Batch No. M038091. It looked like a good possibility but I wondered about the gap of 13 years between a birth to Robert GELL and Margt SCARFF of a Margaret GELL 19 Jun 1814 on Batch No. C038091 and Elizth Sophia GILL christened 25 Feb 1827 Braddan IOM. Father Robt GILL. Mother Margt GILL. Batch No. C038021, particularly when I could find no other likely births in between.
