Hi Maureen , I have more questions than answers !!. Was Eliz Sophiia's father alive or deceased when she married ?
There are two reels of information on the arrival of the "John Davies" , one is online one you have to view at the State Archives. Have you seen both ?
Sue gave you Killey to look at , the Late Brian Lawson's website also brackets Gell and Gale with Gill.
I can find on other births for Robert and Margaret , under any of the 4 names. And no marriage.
Seems that the Elizabeth S with John and Elizabeth Bridson is your Sophia. So is the family her grandparents ?
Found 4 children Robert 1798, Ann 1804, Margaret 1807 and Elizabeth 1809 born to John Bridson and Elizabeth Bell in Malew. They married 14/5/1797 in Malew. Since they were at least 60 , maybe more in 1841 , it could be them.
A Geraldine Jones posted in 2000 on the site seeking information on Sophia , do you know this person ? She failed to get any help.
Maybe some of the good posters we have now might try to prove the Bridson theory.
Could not match any wills.
