Thank you, Sylvia, you're right about what the year should be. The evidence from Brian's burial list and the will is that his burial should be 23 Sep 1837, not 1823. I hadn't noticed that error.
Re Isabella Cavendish (John Gelling's wife), I have the same tentative baptism date for her, posted by yourself here Sept 5 2008, and it seems reasonable. If this is right, then she'd be 89 not 91. As she was very old, it's reasonable that the person who provided the information for the MI was much younger, perhaps one of her family members who wasn't totally sure what her age was. I've often seen elderly person's MI's and burials to be greater ages than the person actually was. When my own grandmother Gelling died in 1970, I thought she was over 90 and thought that for years until I took up family history and discovered she was "only" 89. So this mistake is understandable I think.
