In my line I will work backwards from my Great Grandfather James Mansfield Gelling, his parents were James Gelling and Martha Robinson(this appears to tie in with your Martha and William Robinson, so long ago is this an elder brother, uncle or father?) James father was William Gellin and Elizabeth Mansfield hence my Grandfather carrying his Grandmothers maiden name forward as his middle christian name, the same as my Grandfather carried his mothers Irish maiden name forward as Murray being his middle Christian name. I have had an email from a relative Bruce Gelling in South Africa and he has given their family tree which Kay Clegg's tree splits away from, the key here is that Willian Gellin - Elizabeth Mansfield and William Gellins siblings hold the key to bridging back to the IOM, What we have not been able to establish for William and Elizabeth is a marriage record which would give us more information on the respective parents. Eric if you look back in your notes you sent me a email many years ago now on research you did in Liverpool.
