Neither of the Charles Joughin|s that Keith mentions is the Titanic baker, but you and they are distantly related to the baker. The younger Charles, the one that died in 1919, was the fifth cousin of the baker. You descend from the main line of Andreas Joughin|s. It was the earlier Charles (1860 Douglas – 1949 Birmingham) who crossed to England with his wife Mary Jane Gawne (ca. 1861 Bride – 1901 Chorlton), where their last two children were born. The great-great-grandfather of this earlier Charles was Andrew Joughin (1728 Andreas – 1810 Andreas). He had a sister Ann, (1731 Andreas – 1785 Andreas) who married John Joughin of the Leodist line in Andreas (1716 Andreas – 1788 Andreas). Their great-grandson, another Charles (1814 Bride – 1878 Birkenhead) crossed to England. His grandson Charles John Joughin (1878 Birkenhead – 1956 New Jersey) was the baker on the Titanic.
