John Herbert Clugston (adopted by Kinvigs) was the son of Archie (Jr.) and Margaret Kinvig. He was adopted by Kinvigs (I believe in Castletown) who were relatives of Archie's wife, Margaret (was told farmer's dghter from Ronague, b. about 1801). Archie Clugston died at aged 25. They had 3 kids: Margaret, John and Jane; John not to be confused w/other Johns??!! 1851 census, Margaret 50, Ballachrink; 1871 census, Margaret 70, and listed w/her was George Robbinson "G" (12 years old) b 1858/9 England. I have found out that George was the son of Emma Clugston (John/Ann parents) who marr Charles Robinson in 1907, lived in L'pool.
Charles Clugston(Nailer/Inn Keeper, Lime St., PSM) blown up on Brig Lily disaster) was m. to Catherine Watterson - She died in 1851 before Chas (d. 1852). Supposedly, he was a widower w/ 3 children before death. However, I have found 4 children: Catherine b. 1833; Jane, 1834; Ann, 1836; and John 1839. I don't know anything about them. Does anyone else know? Archie Jr. was my g. g. g. grandfather's (Wm. Henry Sr.) brother. Anyone wishing to share info will be gratefully received. EXTRA: I found a CLUGITH, Thomas(aged 50, b. 1791 IOM) , and family at German, Ballal....gh (maybe Ballaleigh) in 1841 census. This might possibly be Clugston???? Archie and Mary had their first children bapt. in German. Could he have gone there (from Ireland/via Scotland?) because he had relatives there?? Cannot find any further info but definitely think it is a misinterpretation of a name. Any help on this??
