To Kay -- Sorry it has taken so long to reply. Most of what you have told me makes sense and seems to matches our information.
The William we have on our census is under Ann Kinvig stated as [William “] we assumed he had
the name Kinvig as well.
We match the same date for Herbert’s birth but we knew nothing about his death.
We have still found nothing on Robina that relates to our John Herbert - Do you know when she left
home because she would have been 16 when our John went to live with Ann.
We have no recollection of our Bessie being married as she remained in Ann Kinvig’s Mill Street
house until she died around 1968.
We have never found a Frances in our search.
Bessie did look after John and he went back to the island for her funeral - he stayed overnight
does any of your family remember him coming back?
He and his wife Helen [who he called Nelly] took their family back to the island every year and often visited the family he had there but we cannot remember which family members they met, they just remember there was a house in Rushen across from Rushen Abbey and by the airport in a pink farmhouse, I don’t know whether these places mean anything to you?
Do you or any of your family know anything about the Clugstone’s? We believe that was how he was adopted by Ann because she knew the family.
Thanks for your help
Alexandra
