To Kay, I don’t think John had a sister called Robina, he had one called Bessie but I am not sure if this was her real name or a shortened name. Our family were from Mill Street Castletown. Would it be possible for you to send the picture to me through an email? Our John did have an adopted brother called Herbert but we have not been able to find anything out about him so I wouldn’t know whether that was his wife and child. Anne Kinvig had 5 children, John, John Herbert [adopted], William, Herbert and Bessie. We went into Malew Church and I found a War Memorial with Herbert Kinvig on so they might be the same people, but I don’t know anything else about the other children except Bessie who died around 1968, she still lived in the same house I think it was number 40. Yes we have read the messages, most of the information we already had, but again we have not been able to find any information about the Clugstone’s ourselves all we know is that they lived in Castletown but when John was adopted they moved to South Quay, Douglas. My family came over when my Mum was young and they remember visiting some of their relatives in Rushen Abbey and also a farm by the airport but we have not been able to find them. My Great grandfather John had two daughters Nelly and Lily to Helen also known as Nell. Thanks I do appreciate the help your giving me. Alexandra.
