Hello Alexandra, Most of the information I have on Jane's parents, John and Ann, (nee Christian) are from the census returns and certificates. When he was a fisherman living in Port St Mary he lived in the thatched cottage at the bottom of Beach Road which was renovated a few years ago after being empty for many years. Some, if not all their children were born there. Catherine Margaret married my grandfather, born in Ballasalla. They settled in Liverpool. Harvey worked on the IOM ferries and also settled in Liverpool. Mary married Robert Corlett and stayed in IOM, I think. Annie married Philip Quirk in IOM. Emma married Charles Robinson in Liverpool. I knew nothing about the Kinvig family until I found John Herbert on the 1901 census. Maybe my grandmother knew but she died when I was ten and did not talk about the past. Lucy May's daughter knows nothing about John Herbert. As far as I know, the Skillicorns always lived in Douglas. How can I find the free marriage certificate on line that you mention? Yes, I would love to have a copy of the photo of John and his wife.
