Starting at Francis Kermode , taxidermist age 16 in 1891, and working backwards, I've found a family of 3 generations of shipwrights, based on your 1881 census of Francis aged 6 with parents Edward Kermode, ship's carpenter, wife Elizabeth nee Newby.

I think this is Francis's birth:
