Averil, I have had another chance to work through some of the recent and older messages, and I think you've pretty well aced this branch of Looneys of Bwoallie Lohst, described May 1 11:14pm. Well done.

I have a few things to add or comment on.

The first child James of Wm Looney (& Joney Q) b Jan 1695/6 is mentioned in his grandfather John's 1699 will, but seems to disappear after that. Not in father's 1718 or mother's 1736 wills. I wonder what happened to him.

I think daughter Betty/Elizabeth, younger sister of James above, will match the baptism of Isable Lowny d/o Will Lowny 3 Feb 1708[/09]. As noted elsewhere, these names were often interchangeable at that time.

Margery works out to late 1704 because 3 unnamed children are underage when her father William Looney's will was made 18 Jul 1718, but only two (Wm & Betty) are underage by the time it went to court 2 Feb 1718/9. The mysterious "Mary" doesn't show up anywhere, and I don't know where Philip got her, but she could easily fit ca 1707.

Youngest child William b 1711 and his wife Margaret Corkill don't seem to have wills, nor do their youngest son William bp 28 Apr 1754 md Mary Corkill in 1776. I don't have burial dates for any of the 4 of them. I'm quite convinced we've found a good home for the John md Margaret Hutchin to be the 1738 s/o Wm & Mgt (Corkill). Peter b 1735/6 md Catharine Clague 18 Oct 1760, 9 children, and was buried 10 Jun 1798 (will). There is a Robt Loony bapt 30 Jul 1754 s/o Wm Loony who may fit here too. His namesake died 2 months earlier. The date is too close to William, but if William was baptized a year or so late, he'd fit. I can't find another William to place Robt to.

My final thought here is about the Robert Looney buried 3 Sep 1699, who I had thought until a few days ago was the father of the Wm who married Joney Quilleash. His will says his only son Wm is sole admin because he did not receive 6d at father's death or at marriage. The father of Robert is presumably the William of 1661 episc will. A Robert Looney married Joney Callow 25 Nov 1648. There's a burial of a Jony Callow 2 Feb 1676 and a will CALOW, Jony 1676/1677 Maughold LOWNY A w 10106203 on Brian's will index, but I don't see any extract or transcript for it.

William was baptized 28 Oct 1660 and from his father's will, he was married by 1699. He seems like an excellent match to be the William who married Mary ?, with potential children Robert 1698, Esther 1701, William 1705, Isabella 1708. Philip Allen had [Corkill?] as the surname for Mary, but I don't know why.

Could this be the other branch of the Bwoallie Lohst Maughold tree, joined by the marriage of Wm L to Margery L in 1732?

BTW, the 3 children that I think belong to Robert Looney & Joney Callow are Catharine 9 Jan 1655/6, William 28 Oct 1660 and Thomas 14 Aug 1666, bd 23 Mar 1691/2. The latter's will mentions a bro-I-law Robt Cannon exor., bro Wm Loony, father alive, Ann Cannon (+ dau Margt) [fm MNB Maughold will extracts]
