Looking at my MNB CD today and ran across a historical record that very nicely ties the Woods family in with the William & Jony Looney family of Maughold Parish. This historical record can be found in the Lib Vast, Maughold 1731-1739 record dated 5 May 1735. This record speaks to the "Intacks" which are listed directly below "Cornabegg". This record ties William & Jane Woods to William & Jony (Quillease) Looney to their son, John & Esther (Tear) Looney to their son, William Looney. Here below is the text from that record:
"The Right of the above 9d rent fell to the sd Wm. Looney by after the decease of the above Jane Woods by vertue of the last will & testament of her husbd. Wm. Woods to wch she gave her Consent _ And the sd Wm Looney Devised , his Right in the sd 12d rent to the sd John his son by will now produced, and his mother Joney Looney Settled her part upon him not only by her consent to her sd husbands will but likewise by Deed of Gift dated the 2nd Novr 1727 lawfully confirmed by the Court And the sd John Looney being also dead. Devised the premisses to his sd son Wm Looney by his last will & testament now likewise produced to wch his wife Easter Looney Consented And he is [now] accordingly Entered for the whole 12d rent & to come forth in Charge for the same Reserveing his mothers Right in the premisses only dureing her naturall Life as menconed in the sd Will relacon being there unto had may appear fine 9d & fine by John his father 7d"
