there would appear to be only one 8d qtrland rent (post 1704) - in 1716 a John Garrett held in Aust Treen an 8d part of 35s chief rent - there is a 4d rent in 1702 (ie before the doubling of 1704 Act of Settlement) held by probably the same John Garrett - Garrets were holding land in this quarterland in 1639 so I suspect a treck through Lib Vas might resolve - the 1704 comp book gives Don Garrett as compounder in 1643 with all lives expired - in 1691 there is an entry Jon Carrett formerly Don Carret with a query re 1 remaining life Don Carrett aged 50yrs (ie bapt c. 1641 wch is well before the extant Lez register wch starts 1696 - happy hunting
