Yes he is the only Garret ,male or female to have this (Frangagh) against their name. However there is a John Garret 1745, with again in brackets ( Trangagh Moar) which I think is a place name and a Daniel Garret 1735 ( Lhaggagh). Just doing a line by line search of Lez bur register and found Cottier Robert 1777 (from the Lhaggagh). Also John Garrett 1753 (Lhaggagh) So Lhaggagh is a place name. I have checked bur reg from A through to H and not found another (Frangagh) . Interestingly Avril sugestion that Frangagh could be a farm name. Conney Frangagh, place of French gorse. Ballure Glen is in Maughold very close to Ramsey. . Avril I have just read your last post . I think you are right The F could be a typo for T. Trangagh Moar. I looked at the marriage of Wm to Margaret Kelly 1739 on the LDS family search but it is lds member submitted. Is your ref from Parish reg Frances? I can not find a death for Margaret in Lez reg perhaps she is buried at Maughold. William married Isable Fargher 12 Oct 1751 at Lez. I will need to look at maughold bur reg. Hopefully I can look tomorrow when I go in to fhs library at Peel. I say hopefully as when I went in last week after Christmas break I had 59 emails waiting for me. Needless to say I didn't get through them and I am hoping there won't be too many new ones this week. Thank you Avril and Frances for your help . A fresh pair of eyes makes such a difference.
