Sue had asked me to look at this family as i am in USA and done a lot of research in this area. I found what Lionel has presented in his message. I decided to look at Philip and Elinor Cain's children in Canada. Looking at thier son John born 1825 in various Canadian census I found in 1911 census

Judith was listed as his sister so does that infer that Judith was the child of Elinor at an advanced age. The ages reflect the bith dates of 1825 and 1849 which match the dates in the 1851 census. Looks like John moved to Nova Scotia as did Jane after her marriage.
Philip and Elinor's son William continued to live in NB.
