No, I haven't been able to find anything on a Richard Tear(e) with a daughter, Mary Jane Tear, in Canada.

After a poster suggested to James that he look at a Philip Teare who married an Elinor Caine and James replied to him that he saw an Ancestry record that listed a Philip Teare as the father of a Mary Jane Teare, I took a look at a few message boards to see if there were others researching the same line. I found a couple of old message board links with information on Teare and Murphy families that seemed to be the same families that James was seeking info on. I posted those two links to the Manx BB.

I, also, posted to the Manx BB a link to the 1851 New Brunswick, Canada. census image for the family of a Philip and Eleanor Tear that I found on a search of the Canadian Library's 1851 census database.

There was a daughter, Jane, 8 years old, listed in the family(below).

In looking at the 1851 census info. and if the ages are correct for Philip and Eleanor, I'm wondering if the last five or six children could be their grandchildren instead of their children? When Philip Tear, age 14, was born in 1837, Eleanor would have been 44 years old and when the last child, Juda (Judith?), age 3, was born in 1848, Eleanor would have been 55 years old. Could 44-55 years old have been too old for a woman to give birth back then?

The info on the rootsweb's World Connect Project website, above, lists the name of the spouse of Mary Ellen Teare as Randall Jordan. I came across a 1926 death record for a Judith Teare Bogle. The informant was a Mary Jordan. The birth year on the record is the same as the birth year for a Juda Tear listed in the 1851 New Brunswick, CA census. Judith Bogle's parent's names are listed on the death record image as Philip Teare and Margaret Kirk.

Here are the rest of the records that I've found on-line, which includes the 1817 Braddan, Isle of Man marriage for a Philip Teare and Elinor Caine, the marriage & census records for Jeremiah & Jane Murphy, and the birth records for two of their children. In 1881 they are living in St. Croix, Nova Scotia. In 1885 they are living in Anoka, Minnesota, USA

James should try getting copies of the 1922 and 1926 California death records for Jeremiah & Jane Murphy and, if possible, their newspaper obituaries. He should, also, try getting a copy of the marriage record for Jeremiah Murphy & Jane Tear(e) from Nova Scotia. I don't know if early Canadian marriage records give the names of the parent's, but, who knows, they might.
