You will have seen that Frances looked up William Teare's will which made no mention of Richard. There is still a small hope that his wife Christian may have mentioned more children in her will, but you need to check all available US & Canada censuses. These will give you a much better idea of when he emigrated, where his parents came from, etc., - and his age. You may find that Ballakinnag was a red herring, passed down through the generations, and that he came from a different Teare family.

Some LDS Family History Centres have Ancestry (for census records) and other genealogy links freely available.
