Thanks also for the deed details, Frances, which show a Jurby John Corkill buying land on 3 Feb 1787 (and Ann Teare's husband-to-be seemed to be the only JC in Jurby at that time).

The tree compiler chose the bapt date of 1 July 1770 Maughold to be this JC. Surely 16 would be too young to be leaving home and buying land in another parish?

I think the several Andreas/Ballaugh/Bride JCs bapt during the 1750s & 1760s would be better bets for a guess.
