There are still too many loose ends - in particular why is Philip bur in Ballaugh and not as dau Margt is, in Michael. There would appear to be only one Adam Caine fathering children in either Michael or Balaugh at this period - the baptismal dates (and separation of children) are totally consistent with a single family.
I can't find a will for John Stephen but I suspect the entry marked 'c' Alice Steane in index epis wills 1717 might be related.
There is also the query as to how John came into possession - the 1680 thru to 1696 Lib asseds give Wm Myclrea as entered - the 1704 composition book gives both Jon Stephen + Wm as tenants with a mcylrea having compounded in 1643 - in 1639
